Coach Barry Wilson enters his first year as Head Softball coach at Klein Oak, his 2nd year with the program, and his 24th year in education. Prior to coming to Klein Oak, Coach Wilson served as a Varsity Assistant Baseball coach for 13 years at The Woodlands HS. During his time at TWHS, the baseball program won 2 of their 3 State Championships in 2006 (National Champions) and 2013. He also served on the football staff that guided the 2003 team to the 5A State Championship game. His other stints included Montgomery HS, where he was the varsity assistant for softball, Conroe HS, and Dickinson JHS. Coach Wilson teaches World history.
Coach Wilson earned his Bachelors Degree from Texas A&M in 1986, and a Master of Education in Administration from Sam Houston State in 2008. He grew up in Cypress, TX and is a 1981 graduate of Cy-Fair HS.
Coach Wilson’s greatest support comes from his wife of 2 years, Jacquetta, who teaches Chemistry at The Woodlands College Park HS. He has 2 children, a son, Braxton (28) who is a voice actor and lives in Austin, and a daughter, Ragan (20), who is a sophomore at Texas State University. In his spare time, Coach Wilson enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, fishing, and travelling.
Assistant Coach Mike Jaskowiak is in his first year of teaching public school and coaching softball. He comes to Klein Oak from the world of energy trading, where he was a natural gas and electricity trader for 15 years. He has previous experience as an assistant and position soccer coach at the high school level in North Texas, and is teaching US Government and Economics at KO.
Coach J lives in Montgomery and enjoys spending time with his dog, Champ, and his family, including his niece and three nephews. He is originally from Long Island, NY, and grew up in the Dallas area. You will often find him wearing orange to support his alma mater, Oklahoma State, or adding to his sneaker collection.
