Varsity Coach Jav Vela has been coaching softball for over 25 years, leading the 1998 Panthers to the Class 5A Texas State Championship.  He also coached the Texas Thunder of the Womens Pro Fastpitch League for 5 years, and was one of the original coaches to start the Impact Select Softball Program based in Spring, TX.  Jav assists Mike Candrea, Head Coach of the University of Arizona and former Head Coach of Team USA with various softball camps held throughout the USA.  Jav continues to be one of the most respected coaches throughout the softball community and has a unique ability to teach the game to aspiring athletes. 

Coach Royce Kennedy is in his ninth year at Klein Oak High School. This is his twentith year of coaching and his 2nd year as JV coach for KO Softball. He has coached at Galena Park, Anahuac, South Houston, Danbury, Westfield, and Eisenhower. In each of these positions he has coached both baseball and football. 

Coach Kennedy was born in Houston and attended North Shore High School. After high school, he attended San Jacinto Junior College, Kilgore Junior College, and Stephen F. Austin University. He graduated from SFA in 1991 with a major in Kinesiology and a minor in Business. He earned a masters degree in mid-management from SFA in 1997. 

Coach Kennedy and his wife, Heather, live in The Woodlands and have two children. Daughter, Taylor, and son, Bryce.  Coach Kennedy lists his hobbies as baseball, fishing and now GIRLS SOFTBALL!
